UPCOMING:
garden concert, jaya's house, brighton, 23rd may 2008

another healthy concert, this time in a lovely garden, alongside fergusito, a skilled flamenco guitarist, and a few other folk musicians from nearby.

PREVIOUS GIGS:
film night for healthy concerts, brighton, 18th february 2008

an unusual night - i was asked to provide an introduction to a documentary by michael franti (of the band spearhead) in which he busked his way around post-war iraq and the occupied territories of the west bank. why i was chosen i'm not sure, my songs not being overtly political. but the focus on the individual and human fragility in an unstable world, seemed somehow to emerge as a shared concern in both the film and my stuff.

healthy concert, brighton, 11th january 2008

an intimate gig at jaya's house (one of the main organisers of the healthy concerts across brighton & the south east) alongside indigo eye, an intriguing fusion of indian raga style and celtic jig flavour. i've never performed so close to the audience! but i was really pleased with my performance, and i had lots of appreciative comments from people afterwards. it was also the first time i used my handmade (by me) flamenco negra live. lovely...

oxjam gig, sanctuary cafe, 2nd december 2007

this looks like being a great night, and all in a good cause! as part of the oxjam festival - an initiative where, up and down the country, thousands of small and not-so-small gigs have raised money for oxfam - myself and two friends will be playing. richard osborne, luthier in lewes and overseer of the 2nd guitar i've constructed (still ongoing!), is headlining, with his accomplished open-tuning style. i'm next, and opening the proceedings will be cameron 'chip' mobbs, and 17 yr old whose technique in the folk/blues tradition is far beyond his years. come along and be amazed....see www.sanctuarycafe.co.uk or www.myspace.com/thecella for details, or my myspace site...

harpersbury, 14th june 2007

what a day, what a show! dozens of acts came together on a windy but warm summer's day in stuart and fiona's back garden, for a 2nd year running, for a massive party and a celebration of so much local talent, young and not-so-young, topped off once again by a reformed-for-this-day-only felo de se, 80's glam-pop phenomena, world famous in hastings. check them out: www.myspace.com/harpersbury

badger music, 25th april 2007

a quiet gig with an intimate atmosphere. i played a couple of songs for the first time – ‘dust' and ‘26 histories of the human heart'. it was the first gig i'd played in quite a while, and it gave me the opportunity to introduce a new minimalist approach, leaving behind the electronica backing i'm used to using, in favour of just guitar and voice. the intensity of the songs and guitar-work really shone through….

keep an eye on this site for upcoming gigs, coming soon…..
